Expression for the Heart

The thrill comes before
The excitement builds inside
Your heart is ready to express

You make your way out
The lights ripple down
Your heart is ready to express

The music gradually crescendos
And your mind just floats away
Your heart is finally able to express

You move this way and that
Your emotion shoots out of your body
Your heart is happy to express

You don't think, you don't worry
Happiness blows you up like a balloon
Your heart is loving the expression

Your dance is over, you gently bow down
Your mind comes back with the building applause
Your heart is not done expressing

You walk off, sprinting on a cloud
Adrenaline does not leave your system
Your heart is missing the time to express

The Thing With Many Faces

It flies high, way up in the clouds
It swings low, on the branches of trees
It grows up, like vines on a house
It dangles and jingles, like groups of keys

It dives down deep, it floats at the surface
It crawls with the animals in the wild
It wrestles with the wind, gives the breeze a kiss
It runs around and plays with a child

It holds on tight, like a clippy in your hair
It lets you go, like wet hands on a glass
It sings to you each morning, getting you through the day on a dare
It dances through your mind, the present, the past

What is it, you may ask?
What could do all of these things?
It can disguise anything, like a strange mask.
It's a dream, it's a dream, like a bells that rings

Eternal Love

When you find that love
That one true love
You see that it's delicate
Like a frail, white dove

You'll look to the moon
Each and every night
Thinking and thinking
Only one in your sight

Your love will grow
Like a blooming flower
It will have rough times
Like a rare rain shower

You'll want it final
Official, you will
Never-ending, declared with a ring
To admire by the window sill

It will hit you with passion
Burn to your soul
Together forever
Will be your eternal goal

It may seem petty
Useless, unnecessary
But then you'll turn around
And it's you it'll bury

Watch out, I say
Don't rush things through
Because you won't find it
It will find you

Dream like a Butterfly

There’s always that talent that hides inside
The one you can’t figure out, with the strings untied
Then you wait and you wait, for that enlightenment day
And for the relief you will feel, like a brand new day
Yet every time you come close to your purpose, it flutters to the ground
You wait and listen, but you can’t hear a sound
All around you, those people are finding themselves
Like searching for a book among a thousand shelves
Then finally, it glides right into your hands
And you know that its true, then you can finally stand
Your happiness triples, quadruples and more
While your heart flies out, and starts to soar

Secret Love

We talk each day and every night
We know each other so very well
We laugh and talk with every sight
But the way I feel, you just cant tell
You don’t understand what I think of you
As my best friend, and secret crush too
I'm always there, and you are the same
And my love has grown stronger since the day it came
But I am scared to tell you the way I feel
Because rejection has surrounded me
Yet this emotion just seems so real
And every day ill be there, you’ll see

Poem Palooza

It may seem a tad bit early,
But I think it's bedtime, oh so surely.
Sitting and writing, with the tv on,
Excited for the upcoming sun.
My cat lays on the back of the couch,
And soon I lose the fight and start to slouch.
But I want to stay up to write for you,
Blogging is so very new.
I am excited to share my mind,
And hope you'll enjoy what you find.
Although I want to write more and more,
I will be back tomorrow, for sure.
So just be ready, during tomorrow's minutes,
I'll be fresh and excited, my great audience.
